My goal was 31 seeds of rest, yet I floundered at 21.

Yes, there were some valid reasons: a disruptive robbery, a chronic illness flare, the distraction of holiday busyness. Still, guilt and despair crept into my mind as I considered this unaccomplished goal.

But then, I heard God’s sweet whisper: “IT IS GOOD.”

What about you, my friend? Are you wrestling with thoughts of disapproval toward your unmet intentions? Perhaps you, too, are considering your work to be not good.

“And God saw that it was good.”

Genesis 1 (repeated)

Throughout the story of Creation, we read this phrase repeatedly. “And God saw that it was good.” Day after day. Even before His work was complete.

He created, looked at His work, and considered it good.

So can we.

Perhaps 21 seeds is exactly what God wanted from me.

Perhaps you and I are exactly where God wants us to be. Even if we wanted more from ourselves. This is another seed of rest: simple yet difficult.

We can rest as we focus on what we have created and consider it good.

Today’s Seed of Rest

Consider the good in an unmet goal.

Identify a goal you have not completely reached.

Focus on what you have accomplished related to it.

Consider it good.
