Tuesdays are extremely busy days for me, and today is my first regular Tuesday of the year.
I’m sure you understand busy days.
But today is still part of my intentional 21 days of prayer. My time with the Lord has been so good for the first 9 days, I refuse to miss out on today. So on the busiest of days, I will remember one simple secret that can help me continue in my prayer focus.
BE STILL
It need not be long. Just a moment of stillness can refocus my heart. People, tasks, activities, interruptions, and distractions constantly compete for my attention. It is way too easy to reach the end of the day and realize I never stopped moving.
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
Even in the midst of the busyness, I want to train myself to focus on Jesus. I want to rest knowing that God is still God. His Name will be exalted. I can continue to draw near to Jesus even on a busy day if I will purpose to do so in my heart. Perhaps the busiest of days is when I need most to intentionally be still.
So today, I will make time to be still for five minutes. I will be still and know that He is God. Will you?
Today’s Challenge:
Be still for 5 minutes.
Yes, that’s it. But it might be harder than it sounds 🙂
